About the 7th Pay Commission Salary Calculator
Estimate a central-government style monthly salary from basic pay, DA, HRA, transport allowance and an optional NPS contribution. The inputs are adjustable so you can use the rates that apply to your post and location.
How to use this calculator
- Enter your basic pay from the pay matrix.
- Enter the applicable DA and HRA rates.
- Add transport allowance if applicable.
- Enter the employee NPS rate if you want an estimated deduction.
- Review gross salary and the simplified post-NPS estimate.
How the calculation works
The calculator adds basic pay, DA, HRA and transport allowance, then subtracts the NPS estimate based on basic pay plus DA. It is deliberately transparent rather than hard-coding every department-specific allowance.
Example
For a ₹29,200 basic pay, you can enter your current DA and HRA percentages and add the transport allowance shown on your pay rules to see an illustrative gross salary.
Things to keep in mind
- DA and HRA rates can change through official notifications.
- Transport allowance and other allowances depend on post and location.
- NPS/UPS treatment can differ by employee and applicable rules.
- Do not use the estimate as an official salary slip.
Frequently asked questions
Does this calculate 7th CPC basic pay from level and cell?
This version starts with the basic pay you enter. That avoids hard-coding a pay-matrix cell when the user already knows the basic pay.
Does it include income tax?
No. It focuses on gross salary and the simplified NPS deduction. Use the India income-tax calculator separately for tax planning.
Is 8th Pay Commission included?
No. The 8th CPC has not been treated as a finalized salary formula here, so the calculator does not present speculative figures as official rates.
